Avenue Dedicated at Woodbridge
An Avenue of Remembrance was dedicated on the South Channel Area School site at Woodbridge on Friday. The avenue will have 53 trees, one for each person who enlisted from the Channel. Cr O B Cripps welcomed the Minister for Land and Works (Mr Brooker) and the Rev N Elliot, representing the RSL. A brass memorial tablet was unveiled by Mr Brooker. Sixteen trees were planted this year. It is the committee’s aim to have the avenue completed within two years. Mr M J Potter was organiser.
